Giant Tortoise and Baby Cow Become Best Friends And It’ll Warm Your Heart

By | November 19, 2016

With so many bad things happening all around the world, it’s nice to see a heart warming story such as this one – we all need a break! Leonardo the African spurred turtle was rescued from a Bangkok zoo in 2013. Shortly thereafter, Simon the cow joined Leonardo’s habitat after having lost part of her leg due to an accident. Simon had to get prosthetic legs and the healing would be a long one.  “We decided to house him temporarily in a large open field enclosure within the WFFT Rescue Center where he could recover from his ordeal,” WFFT wrote. “We had then planned to move him into a field where we house two other rescued cows.”

Something beautiful and unexpected happened though – the two animals met and instantly took a liking to one another!

“To the surprise of us all Simon the cow has formed a strong bond with the large tortoise Leonardo,” WFFT writes.
Staff says that the two are inseparable: “They are often seen following each other around, sharing meals and resting together. We hope this unusual friendship continues to flourish.”
